Wow, this blog has become a monthly update of my exiting life. I guess it is about Saving Gaia, the lesser the frequency of blogging, the lesser electricity used, the lesser resources depleted, the lesser global instability, the lesser economic fluctuation, well, that's the most i can contribute as an individual. so guys, BLOG LESS, TALK MORE.

Let's start with mel's birthday, i planned a romantic seaview dining place for us on that night, but the planning was kinda rush as there is not much places that suits my criteria. I want it to be quiet, less explored by crowd and of course, nice food. So, checked out my colleague's 'Singapore Best Dining 2008', found several places, but it's either closed for renovation or in Sentosa. I prefer it to me in mainland coz i already booked the Wall-E tickets. So, in the end, got this place call "La Cantina in Venezia", with my italian exchange experience, i know basically it translate to "hey derrick, look no more, come here". Perfecto, i would say that.

So, there are some changes in my life. I'm more into running nowadays and less basketball (hey guys, if you are still reading this lousy blog, i'm so sorry i've been missing out the sunday sessions). Running is a good self-disciplinary tool, it engages body and mind, and of course a healthy sports. It is even better if I were to run for a cause. Like Touch Run mentioned in the previous entry.

This month, i took part in the Nike Human Race. The organizer of the racepack collection was the most cock event organizer ever, it took me more than 3 hours to collect my goodie bag ... who the hell set collection days on Sunday and Monday only. We have to work on Mondays too! So the queue was longer than "Zouk's Mambo Night Queue" to the bridge ... with a bad host doing his lousy deejaying and rapping like a eminem choke on rojak. But the run was good.

Just today, I joined the KPE Swing, its a 10km run as well along the tunnel of KPE. It was another badly organized event, with people fainting due to heat stroke in the queue for the shuttle bus. I think I finally found my running rythem after 23 years.

One more thing to update before I forgot the events. My brother is finally enlisted in the ARMY, this NS thing will definitely toughen him up. I remembered that my National Service was a breeze, it was like a rest and relax 2.5 years for me. Come on bro, just accept all the challenge and get fitter please.

this could be the deadliest blog of all time, it is not the dangerous kind of deadliest but just dead.

so, recently I took up a new sports - running. it was my nightmare during my basketball training days and national service and I never like running with the few exceptions - 'running for a bus' 'running across the road' 'running for life' or simple 'run for charity'. last last weekend, i took part in the Tangs Touch Community Charity 10km Run, my virgin competitive run given to mel, who also got everyone involve, everyone means everyone. next up, Nike Human Race and Standard Chartered Run

so, i finally went for my first business trip. spent the whole of last week in bangkok's office, attending meetings and meeting new people. i need a new business luggage ... i feel so paiseh carrying my jiak-jiak messenger bag, but well, who gives a sh*t. i was not feeling comfortable sleeping in the hotel room alone, too big, too cold, too lonesome! and believe it or not, as much as i go holiday frequently, i am not a SQ supporter, too ex too ex, but i'm glad my company is a big fan of them. will be going Manila next week, another first i guess, its not a typical singaporean's holiday destination, but i'm going on business anyways.

prive! cool place to chill out and just watch the bridge turns colors while chit-chating, love it! one nonsensical hobby of mine is to notice the little things in life, but i tend to overlook when the little things in life happen to me. just for example, yesterday i wore the wrong pair of slippers out, lucky both of them were dark in colors. back to prive, everyone should just avoid the place so it remains less crowded than the overrated demsey road or one rochester.

national day, we did it in the least fashionable way, we did not watch the parade, not even the tv broadcast, not even the fireworks, not even in town ... but bbq @ ecp. it was so old school ... but good fun in the end. mel got me the patriotical ndp tee shirt and it has become my pyjamas already. i always hear from health conscious people that bbq food are cancerous, but what things in life is not cancerous?

EVEN YOUR JOB IS CANCEROUS!
